Today, Dec 16, we did some exploring of the area.  We left our campsite at Buckskin Mountain State Park, AZ and drove over Parker Dam to the California side of the Colorado River.  Only about 14 miles each way.  Sunny skies, quite breezy and about 59 degrees...Chilly!

Parker Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam that crosses the Colorado River 155 miles downstream of Hoover Dam. Built between 1934 and 1938 by the Bureau of Reclamation, it is 320 feet high, 235 feet of which are below the riverbed, making it the deepest dam in the world. The dam's primary functions are to create a reservoir (Lake Havasu), and to generate hydroelectric power.  The dam straddles the state border at the narrows the river passes through between the Whipple Mountains of California and the Buckskin Mountains of Arizona.

Saw some Wild Burros on the California side.  We were told there are a lot of them around here...

Tomorrow, Dec 17th, we leave Buckskin Mountain Park and head south to Yuma, AZ, right on the Mexican border.

Dec 15, We are still here at Buckskin Mountain State Park, AZ.  Nice day today, but a dry cold front came through, about 62 degrees today instead of the low 70s.  I ceramic coated both the Tracker (Putzie) and the RV.  Big job but they look great!

Had a good time visiting with new friends Bill and Doris, our neighbors here in the Park..finished out the day watching the sunset with the Boys!  We each had a cat lap warmer!

One more day here at Buckskin and then Tuesday we take off and head south to Yuma, AZ!

Today, Dec 13, was a perfect day here at Buckskin Mountain State Park...no wind, sunny skies and a high of about 71 degrees.  We did some exploring along the Parker Strip here...checking out the RV parks and restaurants in the area.  We found the Black Pearl Restaurant , part of the Pirates Cove RV Resort.  Nice place...had a great late lunch.

When we got back at about sunset, the Boys were waiting for their carriage ride.

And a beautiful sunset on the Colorado River, looking across to California.....

Mostly clear, 65, no wind...beautiful!!
